The library is also sponsoring 2 assemblies to be held at the school.  The first assembly will be on September 26, at 9:30 in the morning.  The program, Illinois Folk Music for Little Folks, will be presented by Chris Vallillo, a singer-songwriter.   In this engaging and entertaining performance, Mr. Vallillo presents musical performance geared towards younger audiences.  He introduces and discusses traditional Illinois folk music for guitar, slide guitar, Jew's harp and hammer dulcimer.

The second assembly will be  on Wednesday, October 17, at 10:45 in the morning.  Rosie the Singing Scarecrow sings her heart out and plays her four string micro guitar and portable keyboard.  Audience members participate by playing percussion, singing, dancing and even getting up on stage!  Rosie sings Halloween songs as well as popular songs with new words to encourage reading.
